More about Lakshwadweep.

Lakshadweep is a group of coral islands in the Arabian Sea, off the west coast of India. Easily accessible from Kerala, this archipelago with its pristine beaches, crystal clear water, and exotic coral and marine life, is an island paradise. If you enjoy water sports, scuba diving or simply lazing on a sun-kissed beach, Lakshadweep is the ideal destination.

Kavaratti is the capital and the most developed island in Lakshadweep. The beautiful and calm lagoon offers water sports, swimming and snorkeling. If you're more inclined to relax the beach is ideal for sunbathing or just lazing around on the beach. Marine life enthusiasts can visit the marine aquarium, which has an excellent collection of aquatic specimens. The multicoloured underwater life in the lagoons can be viewed through glass-bottomed boats. Kayaks, wind surfers and sailing boats are available on hire. The Dolphin Dive Centre is an attraction for scuba divers like me.

Kalpeni along with two small islets of Tilakkam and Pitti and the uninhabited island of Cheriyam in the north form a single atoll. A peculiar feature of Kalpeni is a huge storm bank of coral debris along its eastern and southeastern shorelines. It is believed that a violent storm in 1847 threw up huge coral boulders along these shores. You can swim, snorkel or reef-walk in the vast lagoon and enjoy water sports on kayaks, sailboats and pedal boats.
Minicoy has one of the largest lagoons and is renowned for its tradition dance - the Lava performed on festive occasions. Colourful race boats called "Jahadhoni" are a feast to the eye of any Tourist. A 300-foot tall lighthouse built by the British, in 1885 is a towering landmark.
Kadmat is 8 km long and only 550 metres wide at its broadest point. It has a beautiful shallow lagoon to the west, which is ideal for water sports, and a narrow lagoon on the east. The long sandy beaches and sand banks on the southern tip are perfect for sun bathing. Tourist huts built amidst palm groves facing the lagoon allow you to soak in the pristine beauty of the coral ecosystem. Kayaks, sailing boats, pedal boats, skiing boats and glass-bottomed boats are available on hire. A Water Sports Institute functions on the island. Kadmat is one of the most beautiful diving locations in India. Clear water with 20-50 meter visibility and a variety of fishes like rays, sharks makes it a memorable destination for scuba divers.
Agatti Island has the only airport in Lakshadweep. As you approach to land, you will get a breath-taking view of the airstrip on the island. It also has one of the most beautiful lagoons in Lakshadweep.
Bangaram is a small uninhabited island, close to Agatti and Kavaratti. During the night, phosphorescent plankton washes ashore on the coral sands and gives the beach a bluish glow, which is totally enchanting.

Desserts & Desire

I was twenty minutes late for office today.Last night was so hectic, went off to meet a few friends after work.Coffee extended to Dinner at Baci, (serves some very good not to forget rich italian food) .I started with Caesar salad, main course was smoked salmon and dessert was sinfully rich chocolate souffle. My friends who are all unemployed and can afford to get smashed every nite were moving on to my ex crush's house to get sloshed and I went along.I figure that since there is no-one in my life right now I can afford to flirt around with ex infatuation.I am such a good girl,i refused to have a fling with him and I was heads over heels in lust with him.It just so happens that his girlfriend is a friend of mine but to justify my flirting with him shes not very close.I crawled into bed at 3 am only to be woken up at 7 am by my next door neighbour, this creepy, repulsive, lechy 30 something guy.He can be such a pain waking me up at 7am to borrow some breakfast cereal which is the only thing I have in my refrigerator. Couldnt sleep much after that.Got productive instead, painted my nails a neutral beige, I am tanned after my Lakshwadweep vacation and the hot pink only makes me look like a fashion disaster.Washed my hair, picked out my clothes to wear(which I never do)Usually just grab the first thing that I see.

I really really want to start jogging again.I love that one hour of running, its such a high.Diffcult since I hate waking up in the mornings and work till eight atleast.Anyway I intend quitting this job soon so that will give me enough time to do my own thing.I ate a melt in my mouth brownie for breakfast today, picked it up from a place called Big Chill on my way to work.I love that place, it also happens to be my fav hangout zone.Last week when my dad was in town I took him out for dinner there and he hated it, too casual I guess, but that happens when you are sixty and wear formal suits during the day.He insisted on eating at the Taipan the next day which he insists has the best chinese food.

I am attending a wedding tonight, i hate black but I am wearing a black sari the other choice would be a red and gold one but have no intentions of competing with the bride.
The ex crush will be there, i dont think I am over him yet.Hes perfect tall, dark, handsome, charming and witty.

Hmm......
I am on a proffessional high, just got another order for my skirts...100 pieces each different from the other and all the freedom to experiment with colour and fabric.I design and market my products abroad, mainly using lots of indian fabric with a hint of embroidery zardozi, zari, salma, aari, chicken work or mix everything up.Silk brocade is my current muse, its perfect for an evening out because its rich and stunning to look at with each region lending its unique flavour.I use the fabric to make skirts,blouses,bags...cant get enough. Silk is also created with zari (fabric woven with thin gold and silver wires) work on it.Enough on that I am working on my line of fashion accessories now, it takes time since I am a one woman team.I design, I do quality control,I market,I package,I sell.Very excited about my new line, thinking of names for it though.I just decided on the colour of my visiting cards...keeping them neutral. With so much colour in my clothes just thought that works best.Any suggestions on a name?????????The new line has brocade bags with sequins, canvas bags with zardozi or swarowski custom written names, printed silk bags, very simple silver jewellery with a single stunning stone, skirts in silk, chiffon, cotton with sequins, beads, zari, crystals.Adding a few brocade pants but dont know if they will sell.I am working on tops and kurtis with work but I am losing interest....they are so common and i hate creating anything mundane and boring. The collection will still take another three to six months....my job really slows me down.I work as a Luxury consultant,we help bring in luxury brands to India but theres absolutely nothing luxurious about my job.Involves every aspect from Conceptualizing events, deciding the colours of flowers to match the silver ware and comliment the candles, to consulting with brands, comparing market reports, checking out market trends-nothing very complicated just economics with plenty of maths ie figures thrown in.On a pesonal front nothings happening..whoever started this myth about tall, dark, handsome men because I am begining to believe they exist only in mbs.Anyway work is keeping me super busy,I just got back from Lakshwadweep. The best Diwali vacation ever.I flew to Cochin and then took a helicopter to Agatti island from where we sailed to Bangaram Islands. The place is stunning.I went scuba diving, snorkelling and fishing(threw the fish back into the sea after catching it).I almost didnt come back, was planning to live in a hut, catch fish and eat fruit but I missed working. You know some day I will give it all up to live on the beach, maybe run a shack or something.By "all" I mean my job,my apartment in Delhi, even my calvin klien suit and my collection of high heels.
